This year The Martha’s Vineyard Yoga Festival is bringing more,

September 1,2,&3 2012!

We will feature classes by several internationally known teachers from New York -Kristin Leigh and Barbara Verocchi (www.theshala.com) and Kelly Morris (www.kellymorrisyoga.com) along with a full schedule that offers classes with the island’s best teachers. Classes will include a full range of levels and styles – from sweaty two-hour vinyasa classes to one-hour restorative sequences and prenatal yoga.

But offering great yoga classes and teachers is only one part of Martha’s Vineyard Yoga Festival’s mission. We are also inspired by the entire healing arts community on Martha’s Vineyard, which may be the Island’s best kept secret. From acupuncturists to naturopathic doctors, the island has some of the most knowledgeable and gifted practitioners we have found anywhere (and we’ve been to Boston, D.C., New York and LA!). This year we will offer massage (day and night), community acupuncture sessions, and free “brown bag” lunches with local alternative health practitioners who will share their work and answer questions.

Beyond all this, the MVYF is a place where people can
connect…or disconnect….or maybe both. The idyllic setting of the
Beach Plum and Menemsha Inn (www.menemshainn.com), which have spectacular views overlooking the ocean and the sleepy fishing village of Menemsha, lend themselves to time in – with your self and or with friends. There will be led morning beach meditations, an evening kirtan, a special raw food dinner featuring JIll Pettijohn, a juice bar, fresh air, shopping (we will be featuring Hyde Yoga clothing) , time for walking down a country road or on a beach. Time for sleep. Time for breathing.
